The most important key factor for epoxy resin to cure properly is temperature. The ideal temperature for your work space and resin products should be around 22-25 Celsius. Otherwise, resin won't cure properly, especially in low temperatures.

Luckily! we have some useful tips and tricks to ensure you have a perfect resin pour!

The 3 simple tips to ensure a perfect resin pour and cure:

  • Epoxy resin should be stored in a warm area.
  • Ensure your workspace is set to a room temperature not lower than 22 Celsius, best if between 24-25.
  • Ensure your workspace stays at a stable room temperature during the curing process.

Why is temperature so important with epoxy resin?

1. Ensure your resin is at room temperature.

Room temperature epoxy resin is crystal clear with honey-like consistency. On the other hand cold resin is very thick with a milky-cloudy appearance, due to hundred thousands of cold induced bubbles (that you will never be able to get rid off) even with Crystal Art Epoxy Resin.

Cold resin has a very thick consistency, making it difficult to pour and work with.

Cold resin is thick and hard to deal with.

It will not self level easily like the room temperature resin.

Even after using a torch, you will be left with micro bubbles below the resin surface.

How can I control the temperature of my resin?

If you resin products is stored in a cold area, you will need to bring it up to room temperature before you use it. You can easily do this by making a warm water bath for the resin bottles:

  • Always warm the bottles BEFORE you measure and mix.
  • Place the bottles in warm water bath: the water doesn't need to be very hot, room 22-25 degrees is fine.
  • Make sure the bottles are closed tight, so water does not leak into it (you can also use plastic bags).
  • Let the resin sit in the warm water bath for 10-15 minutes before working with it.

After the warm water bath is finished, and the resin temperature is good to work with, make sure you dry the bottles from the outside from any water/ splashes.

Room temperature resin is smooth, and crystal clear with a beautiful consistency.

2. Ensure your work space has a temperature of (22-25 Celsius)

In cold winter months, the best case scenario to do is using a heater/ air conditioner in the room that you will work in.

When the room temperature is very cold, resin will take longer times to cure or may not even cure at all, and produce micro bubbles at the same time. If this happens, simply move your resin project to warmer room where it can cure better for the next 24 hours.

💡TIP: If your epoxy resin pour is still sticky even after 24 hours, in a warm workspace, then the temperature wasn't the problem. It is more likely to be a measuring or mixing issue.

3. Epoxy resin should be stored in a warm area

Make sure your resin bottles used or not, are stored in warm room/ dry area and out of direct sunlight where the temperature is about (24-27) only in winter.

💡TIP: Store epoxy resin out of CHILDREN'S reach.

Following these three easy steps, we ensure you that your Clear Epoxy Resin and Crystal Art Epoxy Resin products, will cure properly without any formation of bubbles and imperfections, with a time frame of 24 - 35 hours, depending on the product you are using.
