Introduction to the world of jesmonite (environmentally friendly resin)
You may have seen beautiful handmade pieces from jesmonite taking over TikTok, Instagram Reels, or Pinterest.
Those matte trays, ornaments, candle holders, dispensers and coasters with perfect angles pop satisfyingly from flexible molds. A range of pastel or jewel tones, and a terrazzo finish.
But what is jesmonite? Is it easy to use and make? How to start? How do you know when to sand or seal? And can you color it? Is it food safe? Is it toxic?
We'll answer all of this—and much more—so by the end of this article, you'll be ready to order and start creating (and maybe selling!) your own jesmonite creations.
Let's start from the beginning of the story...
What is jismonite?
Jesmonite is a composite material (meaning it is made of more than one component) used in arts and crafts, as well as in some construction and manufacturing.
Simply put, jesmonite is a powdery substance and a liquid that, when mixed and allowed to solidify, transforms into a hard and malleable substance in a very short time.
The powder is gypsum based (gypsum is a soft mineral) and the liquid is acrylic resin .
Features of Jesmonite
- Eco-friendly
- Water based
- Non-toxic
- Free of solvents and any volatile substances and fumes
- Fast-setting (15-30 minutes)
- Free from any unpleasant odors
What is the use of jismonite?
jesmonite products are used for almost anything in the world of art, crafts, home improvement, construction, etc. All jesmonite materials are flexible for use at any time and place.
Is jesmonite safe for food contact?
Jesmonite is an environmentally friendly material, but it is not recommended to use jesmonite to store food directly, such as bowls or plates.
The material is non-toxic, so fruit bowls and plates (wrapped foods) or the like - figuratively speaking.
It is also not microwave or dishwasher safe.
What molds are suitable for jismonite?
You can use jesmonite with any type of silicone molds, and what distinguishes it from other materials is that it does not damage any molds, regardless of their type.
💡It is preferable to use flexible silicone molds such as resin molds for best results
Does jismonite tolerate heat?
The material only partially withstands a maximum of 60°C, good in direct sunlight or generally warm environments.
Is jismonite break resistant?
Very strong, but not as hard as materials like granite or quartz.
Therefore it should not be used on floors, cutting boards or kitchen countertops.
But for table tops, trays, coasters, dispensers, jewelry and other incidental decorative items, it withstands all impacts admirably.
Can jismonite be stained?
naturally! The material has many basic colors, bright and vivid as desired, and you can produce any color according to your desire from its basic colors to achieve ideal creativity.
Is jasmonite waterproof?
You can waterproof all your Jesmonite work with Jesmonite Acrylic Sealer. The material is naturally water resistant to some extent without any additives.
What can you make from jismonite?
It just depends on how creative you are!
Popular options include…
- Candle Holders & Pots
- Coasters
- Distributions
- jewelry
- Trays
- soap dishes
- Jewelry Plates
- Vases
- Candlesticks
- Stands
How do you start with gesmonite?
Here's everything you need to start using jesmonite and casting.
- Jesmonite Materials (Powder + Drying Liquid)
- Original Jasmonite Pigments
- silicone molds (preferably flexible ones like resin molds)
- Mixing cups or bowls
- Sensitive electronic scale
- Sandpaper of different grades
- Creativity..
The mixing ratios for jismonite are as follows: (40 grams of liquid for every 100 grams of powder). For example, measure 300 grams of powder and 120 grams of liquid. Mix them together in a bowl. This is the magic ratio of jasmonite to make the material strong and harden properly and quickly.
💡The mixing ratios can be calculated as follows: We multiply any number of powder by 0.4 and we get how much liquid we need..Example: (50 powder * 0.4 = 20 liquid )
- Add color pigments you like - less is more! The tinctures are very strong in high concentration and you can always add more as desired.
- Mix the two materials with the colors well and once the mixture is smooth, pour the mixture into your mold. You want to make sure it is in all the nooks and crannies of the mold, so gently tap the base of the mold on your work surface, and make it gently sway to remove any air bubbles. Then leave it for 30 minutes to an hour. Your jesmonite may get hot when it hardens - this is because jesmonite creates an exothermic reaction at but not at high temperatures.
- After 15-30 minutes, gently remove the piece from its mold. If the mixture successfully immerses the mold, there should be no holes or voids of bubbles.
- You can use scratch paper to soften the piece and make it bright in color and soft to the touch.
In 15-30 minutes you created amazing, eternally beautiful art!
Here are some simple and beautiful ideas that you can make using jesmonite
You can create a stunning marble look piece by adding small amounts of any color of jismonite to white jesmonite once in its mold, and gently (not completely) stirring the color into the material.
Combine jesmonite, clear resin and dried roses for this stunningly contrasting piece. To achieve this, pour the whole jesmonite into any mold of your choice, remove it and carefully divide it into two parts. Place half back in the mold and fill the rest of the mold with clear resin, adding some dried roses
You can make beautiful trays and coasters using different molds with jesmonite, and make office or bedroom tools, makeup tools, and art tools.
You can make candle holders and bases using jesmonite and flexible silicone molds
Wedding and party distributions, etc.
As we saw in the examples above, the ideas with this new material (the new trend in the world of art) are endless, and you can create many beautiful ideas and arrangements within minutes instead of days...
Start a new project with jesmonite and start making money by creating beautiful and stunning pieces at the lowest costs.

Today, while I was at work, my cousin stole my iPad and tested to see if it can survive a 30 foot drop, just
so she can be a youtube sensation. My apple ipad is now broken and she has
83 views. I know this is completely off topic but I had to
share it with someone! milan trøje
